Accessibility
Cakeday follows the Apple Human Interface Guidelines and uses native iOS accessibility frameworks, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and more, throughout the app.
Cakeday is designed with accessibility in mind. We follow the Apple Human Interface Guidelines and use native iOS accessibility frameworks throughout the app.
VoiceOver
Cakeday supports VoiceOver. Interactive elements such as navigation, pickers, lists, and buttons use semantic labels to provide clear auditory feedback, and the app is designed to work with standard VoiceOver gestures.
Voice Control
Buttons, input fields, and toggles are exposed through the iOS accessibility tree, enabling hands-free navigation through spoken commands.
Dynamic Type
Cakeday supports Dynamic Type. Adjusting text size in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size scales app text while preserving layout integrity.
Dark Mode
Cakeday supports iOS Dark Mode. Interface elements, colors, and group indicators adapt automatically to reduce eye strain in low-light environments.
Reduce Motion
When โReduce Motionโ is enabled in iOS Settings, Cakeday disables celebratory animations, continuous spinning indicators, and spring-based transitions.
Contrast and Visual Distinctions
Cakeday follows WCAG color contrast guidelines. Color is not intended to be the sole way to convey information; group classifications and status indicators include icons or text labels alongside color.
Trademark Acknowledgment
Apple, iOS, and VoiceOver are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
