Appearance

Everything visual lives on a single page: Settings > Appearance Settings. From there you can pick the accent color, switch the appearance mode, adjust how dates and times are displayed, and turn on extra content. Changes take effect immediately.

Accent Colors

The accent color applies to buttons, highlights, navigation elements, and other interactive controls. On iOS, choose it under Settings > Appearance Settings > Theme Color, which opens a grid of color swatches. Tap a swatch to apply it. Cakeday offers 8 accent color themes:

• Pink
• Blue
• Purple
• Green
• Orange
• Red
• Teal
• Indigo

Appearance Mode

On the Appearance Settings page, you can choose among three appearance modes:

• Light: Better suited to bright environments and high-contrast reading.
• Dark: Better suited to low-light environments.
• System: Follows the device-wide appearance setting and switches automatically.

Display Settings

The same Appearance Settings page provides these display preferences:

• Show Lunar in Calendar: Displays lunar month information in the calendar month view.
• 24-Hour Time: Chooses between 12-hour and 24-hour time presentation.
• Date Format: Choose from System, Year / Month / Day, Month / Day / Year, or Day / Month / Year.

The selected date format is used across lists, detail views, calendar views, widgets, and Apple Watch.

Extra Content

In Settings > Appearance Settings > Extra Content, Cakeday can show optional astrology details on birthday detail pages and friend profiles. These extras are off by default.

The Astro Chart beta can show chart positions, houses, and degrees when the profile has a birth year, birth time, and birth city for chart calculation. You can also choose the house system. The default house system is Placidus.

Language

Cakeday follows the system language or the per-app language configured by iOS. The Language row at the bottom of the Appearance Settings page provides a shortcut into the relevant system settings page.
